Fellowship 10AM • worship 10:30am
What can you expect on a Sunday morning at Cornerstone Community Church? In short:
Fellowship with the faith family
Worship through the singing of psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs
Expository preaching
Remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice through the Lord’s Supper
Fellowship: Our time together on Sunday mornings begins at 10:00am when we gather to spend time together, share coffee, and catch up with one another while preparing for worship. This is a wonderful time to get to know one another and prepare hearts and minds for worship.
Worship through song: In holding to the regulative principle of worship, we congregationally sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs that are scripturally accurate and theologically rich. Lyrics are provided along with our liturgy in our weekly worship bulletin.
Expository preaching: A distinctive of Cornerstone Milledgeville is expositional preaching, or preaching verse-by-verse through the Bible. We preach this way because we believe all of scripture is profitable for instruction in righteousness, especially the difficult or hard-to-understand passages.
Sacraments: The two sacraments given to the local church to administer are baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We partake of the Lord’s Supper together whenever we gather in keeping with 1 Corinthians 11 and celebrate as a congregation whenever we have the opportunity to see a newborn Christian baptized.
Have little ones? We welcome and encourage children of all ages to attend the main worship gathering with their families. We have rocking chairs available in the back of our worship space for mothers of little ones. We also have a children’s space available for children of ages 0-4 where they will spend the service with our wonderful childcare volunteers. Our goal in providing childcare is not to replace parents, but to help them in the call of Proverbs 22:6.
Our Liturgy, or order of worship, is typically broken down this way:
Responsive Call to Worship
Prayer
Congregational Worship through Song
Sermon: Worship through the Preaching of Scripture
Congregational Worship through Song
Lord’s Supper
Benediction (Ephesians 3:20-21) & Doxology
