There is a dangerous temptation in all of us to delay obedience or ignore responsibility. We convince ourselves that we will deal with it later, fix it tomorrow, apologize next week, serve when life settles down, or finally address the issue “when the time is right.” But Scripture speaks plainly to this tendency…
God’s grace is not an accessory to help life run smoothly. It doesn’t fit into a corner of the puzzle of our lives or give a good frame for us to fill out. It demands the whole picture and attention of our being. After all, the puzzle revealed has little to do with our story and eternally more about the glory of God.
The blessed reality of Christians begins in the understanding that we are not rooted in our own two feet, but are instead founded as a body on the cornerstone Jesus Christ. As Jesus is the foundation of our faith and true life, it is His example we are to learn from, live according to, and produce in our lives through obedience and love unto Him.
